Rainshaker is a small business in Victoria, Australia, creating outdoor equipment and accessories. We are passionate about working with more traditional methods and blending the old with new modern ways to construct our products. Based on the Mornington Peninsula on Boon Wurrung country, having a dense bushland and coastal surround, the limits are endless for activities. From the Victorian high country, the Ottways, the Gippsland region and beyond, we are limitless to incredible camping and other outdoor adventures. This is a community where we want to share this life with you all.

Lately we have been highly invested in using beeswaxed canvas a fabric that is highly durable, has a strong resistance to tearing and of-course waterproof. With the use of PFAS-based water-resistant coatings in many outdoor products posing a significant concern for PFAS contamination we have found the need to highlight how oversaturated this industry is becoming in using these synthetic and harmful methods. By choosing natural fabrics where possible, we demonstrate that effective alternatives are available and highlight the need for industry-wide adoption of PFAS-free practices.

For us clothing isn’t just an accessory - it’s embedded into how we live. A fabricated second skin. This project is an expression of our passion for exploring and protecting our beautiful planet. We asked ourselves - ‘how does clothing impact the way we occupy this world?’ We want to produce essentials that respond to our lifestyle needs as avid explorers for the world around us.
